Nik Gregory of Acquia spoke about “Driving Loads Tests from the Command Line” at LoadTestWorld 2021. Nik started by saying how he’s not a fan of GUI’s for repetitive tasks which led to the work he has done and the time he has saved. The video is available on the LoadTestWorld YouTube channel.
The Use Case he had was weekly baselining of their system which had daily changes. That meant that they had a lot of data to download and analyze. The solution he developed was a CLI wrapper in Ruby that he made available for any performance engineer at Acquia to use. During his presentation Nik walks through how it works. The main benefit is that this now allows anyone to download 100s of JTLs for offline analysis.

Future Work
Nik is already looking into future capabilities. He wants to be able to do things like insert JMeter test results into a database for long term trend analysis. And then potentially making this available to the load testing community.
