Alex Podelko is a performance engineer at MongoDB, responsible for performance testing and optimization of the MongoDB Server. Over the last 20+ years Alex Podelko has supported major performance initiatives for Oracle, Hyperion, Aetna, and Intel in different roles including performance tester, performance analyst, performance architect, and performance engineer. Alex talked about the evolution of performance testing and how companies like Netflix used to focus on canary testing. One of the RedLine13 customers commented on the similar evolution of the performance test engineer, who unlike QA testers, have added the ability to code.
Alex also spoke about the future of performance engineering, including the future of Apache JMeter.
