Most people don’t realize that there are unavailable AWS instance types in certain regions. In other words, every AWS region does not have every AWS instance type.

RedLine13 is an AWS Advanced Technology Partner. When you are ready to choose your AWS instance type in RedLine13, you will see ALL of the AWS instance types. But those that are unavailable in that region will be disabled so you can’t choose them. In this example you see that all m3 instances are unavailable.

You’ll also see that when you choose your AWS instance type, it shows cost estimates as well. That will help in choosing your AWS instance. Amazingly inexpensive.

While we’re talking about AWS instance types, you may want to look into spot instances instead of on-demand.  As you see in the image above, they can save you a good amount of money.
