Three years ago, RedLine13 started out when Stephen Sigwart and Bob Bickel needed to do some stress testing for their new company, RunSignUp. They needed to simulate 50,000 concurrent users hitting their site at the same time. Upon discovering just how expensive this was with other providers, they figured that they could just build a solution for themselves to load test at a fraction of the cost.
What began as a small internal tool for load testing quickly started to generate interest among others. “Why not create a service around affordable, cloud-based load testing?”, they asked themselves. Soon, RedLine13 started to catch on and now we are pleased to announce that our company’s user base has grown on a global scale as we now have users from every continent in the world (minus Antarctica) for real global growth.
It’s apparent that RedLine13 is striking a chord with testers around the world, as is evident from the above picture. Each blue tick mark represents where a user (or multiple users) had interacted with our most recent email campaign. While it’s not the full picture representing our entire user base, it’s evident that RedLine13 is used across the globe. So what can we make of this?
Well one thing is for certain, (almost) free load testing is something that appeals to a wide range of individuals. Whether they’re independent developers, a consulting QA company, or a software vendor, affordable load testing seems to be catching on. We would like to thank our diverse, global user base for allowing us to make RedLine13 a possibility as we strive to continue to be the most affordable load testing solution on the market today.
